The Holiday Inn was convenient as a place to rest after a long journey. The welcome and helpfulness of the staff was great. Our room was fine with a comfy bed and good space. Room service was quick and tasty, lunch in the restaurant was perfectly fine for a quick snack.

The hotel staff, service and location was excellent, however, we did have a problem with other guests slamming doors and talking in the hallway outside our room. Whilst I realise that fire doors are a necessity, the level of noise in the hotel was a bit over the top.

This hotel is not what is advertised and i will never stay there again, I got a tower suite expectig what the advertised instead only one suite in the tower had that.

I have stayed at this hotel before the upgrade and after. I believe the room that I styed in to be extremely comfortable and think you have done well with your upgrades. The hotel is in a great location, especially if you are stopping over. Staff extremely friendly and helpful and food wonderful.

A positive first impression which has continued , prompted our selection of this hotel on all our subsequent visits to Auckland.

The location is the very best for staying in Christchurch. We walked everywhere at anytime of the day or night. I found it inexcusable that the doors slam so loudly every time they are opened. It is especially annoying during the late night hours. I'm certain the self-closing apparatus can be adjusted to accomplish their task without causing such a disturbance.

The proximity to the airport was our main concern as we had arrived a day earlier than our daughter who we had to meet early the next morning from USA. The bus transfer facility was ideal for us and the late check out gave her a rest and a nice shower. The evening for use was good as the restaurant was very nice, although a little noisy given the closeness of the large screen TV with children watching.

Hotel in General is way past needing a revamp

I have travelled extensively and found the hotel and grounds not like it was made out to be on the internet which was disappointing. I usually do not complain but I think you need to upgrade immediately. I think the room needs a good upgrade. The carpet was dirty with holes in and the bathroom was not clean. The doors on the wardrobe could do with replacing and I found the fridge very noisy at night. Also the iceblocks in the fridge were just water not ice.

It is an old hotel and shows its age. Unfortunately our night was a sleepless one. The alarm clock kept ringing. The night manager attempted to repair it but he failed. We woke tired and dispirited and left to catch our plane.

thought the room was dirty and had a very damp funny smell.

we booked a double and were given twin single beds. Not even asked what our preference was. Room was clean but found the decor certainly lacking for the price paid.
