This was really a lovely hotel, scrupulously maintained, but let down by the technical challenges of an aging building. For instance the room is heated with hot water baseboards. When I walked in the room was like a sauna. I couldn't find a thermostat anywhere in the room. I asked at the front desk and they said there was a dial on the baseboard itself. I finally spotted it behind the desk. This is the first time I have ever had to completely move furniture and crawl around on the floor in order to adjust the room temperature. Furthermore it is not a dial but a round handle valve and there is no indication which direction is hotter and which cooler.
