Not what you're looking for?

Sha Tin - Built mostly on reclaimed land, Sha Tin is a showcase in the building of a modern new town. Straddling both sides of the Shing Mun River Channel, Sha Tin is a densely populated area with country parks as well as light industries areas. Sha Tin is probably more known for being the location for Hong Kong's second largest racetrack, the Sha Tin Racecourse that has a capacity of over 85,000. The best time to experience the excitement and perhaps win a few bucks is from September to June which is the racing season. You can also find one of the largest shopping malls in Hong Kong here, the massive New Town Plaza. Perhaps its biggest attraction is Snoopy's World which is only the second such playground in the world. If you're a big Snoopy fan, this is where you should go. For a bit of culture and history, how about spending an hour or so at Hong Kong Heritage Museum? However, with 12 exhibition galleries, you'd probably need more than an hour. Sha Tin is also famous with the locals for its gourmet cuisines and the abundance of good restaurants that serve, among others, the delicious Sha Tin Roasted Pigeon. Getting to Sha Tin to enjoy this delicacy is seriously easy with five stations served by the East Rail Line. By the way, if you're a biking enthusiast, be sure to take on the 50km cycle track here, the longest network in Hong Kong.
