Fellow in the bar was very pleasant. Lady at the front of restaurant ws a bit bored and not friendly.
Concierege staff were very good.

Excellent quality hotel located just over a block from the Cathredal Centre. Room was spacious and had all the expected amenities. Cost was slightly lower than expected for a hotel so well located.

This hotel met our expectations for a short stay - the chief attraction being the central location with plenty of shopping, museum, art galleries, gardens, river, cathedral etc all within easy walking distance.

The room was clean and comfortable, great shower and the desk staff helpful in organising pick-ups. The alarm clock didn't seem to work (or was difficult) but the alternative wake-up call was right on time.

Continental breakfast seemed expensive compared to elsewhere but good selection. Dinner served in room one night arrived promptly and was a good option.

Staff courteous.

The Hotel Chancellor is a very clean and well run hotel.
The staff were very friendly and very efficient.
The location was ideal, being a few minutes walk to the Cathederal Square and the wonderful bus station for easy sightseeing, and also close to all the shops.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Christchurch.

We only spent one night in this hotel as it was our last one in N Z before catching a flight th next day.
We found it convenient to all ameneties, shops and restaurants.
It was clean and the staff very helpful and friendly.
Wouldn't hestitate to stay there again if I returned to NZ

The accommodation was OK and the staff very good, however the Hotels response after the fire evacuation was very poor.
Not even a cup of coffee on offer to all those who had to evacuate in the early hours of the morning. It was just take your money and go.
Sorry but would not stay there again or in any of the groups other hotels in NZ.

Poor pillows

THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH ACCOMMODATION - TWO ROOMS BOOKED BUT NOT AVAILABLE SO WAS OFFERED PENTHOUSE AND COMPLIMENTARY WINE WHICH DIDN'T ARRIVE AND HAD TO BE REQUESTED. FLOW OF WATER IN SHOWER ON TOP FLOOR WAS NOT CONSISTENT - WENT ON AND OFF

Nice friendly and helpful staff, great location, good sized room.

Staff in restaurant we very helpful. Very professional staff at check in. Just perhaps a bit old world, but what we needed on a cold late night. Lovely big room. Nice Furniture. Lacked bit of atmosphere.

We were upgranded to an apartment at no extra cost, which was wonderful.

The Room up top was excelent with 2 bedrooms and a flight of stairs up to the top room with heaps of room to move in

Car parking a problem with carpark next door having restricted hours. poor lighting when trying to do paper work in room at night.

we loved the look of the hotel but did not stay there on our return to Chiristchurch because of the bed. It was not a king size bed although that is what we requested. It was small very uncomfortable bed
