Based on what you can get for the same cost in the USA the hotel is poor. Room was fine however the bathroom is in need of some refurbishment.

This we got but the bathroom was tiny, and the rest of the room was too small. We chose this hotel because we had satyed at the Grand Chancellor in Christchurch and their rooms were substantially larger.

The hotel offered us 1 room with 2 beds. As we of course wrote that we were a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children), this really surpirised us and we had to ask for another room. The front desk officer asked us to do another booking on the website...this was about 5 meters from his location in the lobby. We really found this poor service as we had asked for this and the man did not offer any sort of service to help us and our 4 small children. Lousy service!Then we asked if we could check out at 12. This was no problem according to the front desk..on our departure date from 10.30 tehy started calling if we could come down, pay our bill, and bring our luggage.... The drawers of the cabinet under the tv still contained items of a previous customer. This included a dirty used handkerchief. We reported this at the front desk at no action was taken...we left everything just there...
