The Grand Chancellor Hobart is a good hotel, BUT ... too much greenwash (e.g., 'we're going green, please tell us if you don't want your room made up'; pleas reuse your towels). PLEASE Grand Chancellor Management, don't go there. You have a huge atrium that leaks heat. You have a (cracked) glass dome for your swimming pool that leaks heat. Sort out your green credentials, please don't spout BS. The gym is okay, but needs more cardio-vascular equipment.

I came to Hobart due to a medical family emergency and ended up staying for two weeks.

I was put off staying longer than one night at the Chancellor as I found $180 for room only to be too high and the cost of breakfast ($18.50 for a continental and an attempt to charge $8-9 for an egg or two ridiculous)

This is HOBART for goodness sake! Not Sydney, the Gold Coast, New York or London!!

The hotel itself was lovely the service excellent and the public areas clean and airy. I have no complaints about any of it but felt the price was too steep.

I woudl have gone stark raving mad if I had been forced to be stuck in a single room for 14 nights!! As it was I found a marvellous bed & breakfast which included a kitchenette for $100 a night including a continental breakfast.

I know you are a fine hotel and therefore believe you need to reflect your feelings about yourselves in your prices... too steep for me I am afraid.

I came with my parents to spend Christmas in Hobart. The highlight of our stay was your Christmas Dinner. Although you were booked you very kindly allotted us a table since Christmas Day was my mother's 70th birthday. We loved the food and appreciated the free champagne.
I loved the view from my room and the location of the hotel. The staff were most helpful. My only negative impression would be the furnishing of the room which needed upgrading. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel highly.

Pool as advertised not in working order...

Swimming pool was out of service for the duration of our stay. Dissapointing as it was one of the main reasons for selecting this hotel over others. Gymm is a little dated and could do with a revamp. Never been hoovered under and around the bed, so thick with dust. Back of the TV was thick with dust too.

There is room for a facelift! However,on the whole we did have a wonderful time. some finer details could have been taken. ie. cleaning products were left in the room/towels not changed over/etc

The health club facilities at the Grand Chancellor are getting a bit long in the tooth! The locker room could use some maintenance.

A large spacious hotel in a great position by the water. We were very happy with our accommodation. The room was very comfortable and large.
