The Hotel is in a convenient location for use the Airport. Good bus conections to city although needed to catch a bus to the Airport and then to the city. The busses were very frequent making this easier. Great having a laundry facility for guests. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food served was great. Plenty of parking. I would use this hotel again if travelling by plane too or from Auckland.

It was not the hotel which I read in the review. The reviews were bad, but when I entered the hotel it was a pleasant, quite and nice staying place. Worth the money paid and easy for the travellers. Located jus 5 mins from the Auckland airport. Good service from the staff and more helpful. I would recommend my friends to stay here.

I found the staff very courteous. Only stayed 1 night for an airport transfer, very handy to airport, found it very comfortable.

It would encourage people to use Places restaurant more if it was well lighted and cheerful! Like the staff are!

We stayed here 1 night as we arrived in Auckland late (very late - thanks, Qantas!) and flew out at lunchtime the next day. The hotel is quiet, the breakfast is OK, the staff very friendly and efficient, especially as we arrived at 3 a.m. Check in was quick, the room spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was OK but getting some coffee to drink was a test of patience.
Our trip was to NZ then Aus then back to NZ to fly home (again, thanks, Qantas, for the unnecessary flight) and we were able to leave a load of stuff we didn't need in Aus at the Grand Chancellor on the way out at no charge - brilliant!
There are conference rooms here and this would probably be a convenient place for a 1 or 2 days sales meeting though you are a long way from downtown. Not a good place to stay as a base for a vacation in Auckland unless you have a car and are desperate to save money on the hotel. Even then there are probably cheaper ones downtown.
All round, I would definitely stay here again is I needed a night in Auckland between flights.

The staff was very frendly and helpful. The location was great for access to the airport. The food was good . I would stay at the Grand Chancelor Auckland Airport
and recomend to other people.
Rooms are clean and the service is great

The blanket on the bed, the first of the two nights we stayed there on our way into and out of New Zealand, had a hole in it - not good enough!

The reason for booking there was the airport shuttle service, but we weren't told where it left from and we missed it - the hotel said they'd reimburse us for a cab, but they then didn't do it. The new staff member on the desk when we checked out, didn't know anything about it - not good enough.

Good value though - a comfortable bed and bathroom for very little money. Convenient having the restaurant there too.

Hotel is close to airport with regular bus transfers at a reasonable price. Eating in the hotel is expensive but there is a very good cafe 5min walk away. I would overnight stop there again.

Plenty of carpark area.Breakfast was justOK.

No elevator so if you have heavy bags you will need to pay a porter to get them to the second floor. Otherwise a reasonable place to stay when coming or going from airport.

Very convenient for the Airport, efficient helpful staff.

I booked the hotel room from an internet site at the Airport in Sydney Aust and was pleased with the hotel. Staff were courteous and helpful with only one problem; there was a false fire alarm. Everyone got out and with a little loss of sleep it was not too bad. I did think staff could have checked each room to make sure guests had indeed moved out of the room.
Young lady in the bar was very pleasant.

But, we were not informed of the charge for car parking when making the internet booking, the room rate was quoted without GST charges and this was a shock... We also found the buffet meal to be overpriced although the food was not bad..

- everything was good- ate buffet meal in restaurant and selection was good. . it was very convient for access to airport for our ealy morning flight

On our arrival at 1.30 am, we found that there was no record of our booking. The person on reception was not particularly communicative and did not apologise. However we were soon given a room and all was well. Room was comfortable and roomy, breakfast was very good.
