We enjoy the Adelaide Mercure. It is well situated and comfortable with pleasant staff and good amenities. Of course the old cheaper rooms although clean and ok are very very small. If you want a pleasant hotel walking distance to the city, restaurants and the casino I recommend it. Cheers Mark Bowring Mildura Victoria Australia
For the room we had it was deal for a nights stay for an early flight the next mornig being a reasonable taxi fair to the near by airport. Room a bit too far away from main part of hotel, but once again expected I guess for the money paid. Close to the main part of Adelaide able to walk everywhere.
Hotel location excellent. Passage carpet in need of cleaning on floors 2 and 4. Photo of an economy room would have been helpfull as advertising did not fairly represent accomadation. Would have selected another level had I been more aware of the standard of an economy room.
Thank you for a nice stay
We enjoyed our visit to Adelaide very much. The hotel was in an excellent location. The room and bath were smaller than we expected and the bed seemed smaller than a queen size. However, for the most part, it was comfortable. We were not well informed about the cost of the breakfast. We got the continental breakfast but were charged the cost of the full breakfast. The continental breakfast was excellent. Thank you for your hospitality. Marilyn Johnson
General review
We were quite happy with our stay. Although the room was small and the access a bit difficult with cases [we are both heading for 80] we had no complaints. The staff were friendly and efficient. The tariff was very good considering the hotel is in the central area and good for public transport. Would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and would certainly stay again if we are in Adelaide.
The location was handy for the meetings that I had to attend. It was close and convenient to go into the shops. It is very quiet despite being located on North Tce. The parking was convenient but it was a bit of a squeeze getting in and out. The swipe cards take a bit of mastering but are useful. The staff are very helpful, bright and cheerful.
Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide
This hotel is in an excellent location close to the centre of this lovely city. We did not eat here because there are numerous restaurants and cafes in the vicinity, so we cannot comment on the food. The service was good and this hotel is excellent value for money. We would love to come back and stay here some time in the not too distant future.
Convenience and Proximity
This trip packed more "stuff" in 3 full days than any other that I can recall. This is at least partly due to the convenient location of the Mercure. We took advantage of The Overland train ($4million dollar refurbishment) and enjoyed Adelaide and the Barossa Valley. n.b.#1 The rooms are advertised with a microwave but we didn't find one. n.b.#2: Some cable tv channels - especially sports and news - were appreciated. Great location for tourist activity, poor delivery by the staff of anything close to helpfulness. After objecting to being stuck on the renovation floor with the over-bleached bathroom, we were moved to a slightly better room - still nothing like the rooms they advertise.
I had a room with window and the city street view this time. However I had the steps to contend with. It was not easy with heavy luggage to lug about. However I got help from the personnel there. Thank you. I wouldn't have been able to carry those heavy items myself - up and down the stairs.
