Asked to be moved to a better room. Cost was not an issue. We were effectively ignored. Reception staff were not particularly interested - they generally seemed a bit unhappy with their lot. Having said all that I would probably go back - just for the location!

Room 1303. I have stayed at the Goldsborough twice now, and both times there has been an unusual smell in the (different) rooms I have stayed in. Not sure what it is (other than being disconcerting).

No information on how to work the air conditioner. Eventually worked it out .Reception had no idea.

Asked for pillows for sofa bed - never arrived. Trying to ring reception was a joke - phone never answered. One of the swipe cards did not work on doors Furniture was looking a bit tired and worn out

We had reserved a portbale cot for my son, we had checked in at 6pm after a major road accident, after travelling for 7hrs, however on arrival we had no cot set up in the room. On contacting reception we were advised that the concierge would send one up.

lifts are poor - too few and too slow

Was sent to a room with a door tht would not open and then was made to wait for an hour whilst the security doddled around and then eventually had to shoulder-charge the door to open it. Was offered this room, with the knowledge that I would have to do the same each time I entered and then eventually offered another room - which whist in standard was quite good, did not have a view. No apology was given for the delay or inconvenience. No safe in room.

the lifts were very busy and so it would have been nice to have stairs to go up and down

A suggestion .... should be able to use stairs. We could see our room door from the lift on level 2, but sometimes had to wait for 10 minutes to get a lift. A tad annoying when in hurry. Pool room and spa also lovely and look lovely, but are very 'tired' and could do with a paint and do-up. But once again - lovely style with heaps and heaps of potential. Room was good although somethings look a little 'tired' - ie. broken backs on chairs, wonky tiles etc. Lovely style though - lots of potential

The main downside was the loud traffic noise from the mototways directly outside our apartment windows. The apartment was a great size and comfortable. The washing machine and dryer were very handy.

Lighting was not strong enough in the kitchen or bathroom (mainly due to height of ceilings).

bed very uncomfortable. Only fault with room, otherwise excellent for money value.

However, we found it too hot & stuffy in the gym & pool room, so didn't use it (& I had been looking forward to using both). The heat made the chlorine from the pool overpowering.

It is situated at a very good location and very convenient. It is a very good place , with good view and really comfortable.

Hotel seemed untidy , dusty and needing a spring clean. Room was adequate.It could do with a fresh coat of paint.
