We stayed in Duminy Vendome for 5 nights whilst we explored Paris. The location could not be better, on a street right between the Tuileries gardens and shopping on Rue St Honore. The Louvre is literally just around the corner and we were in walking distance from just about everything. We only needed the Metro once. The hotel building is OK. We got two singles pushed together instead of a double bed, but they were actually very comfortable and we hardly noticed the join. The staff were excellent and helpful booking restaurants, etc. They also lent us plates and cutlery (and corkscrews) so we avoided the 17 euro breakfast charge by filling the minibar with the smelly cheeses we found in our wanderings round Paris. They did not seem to mind our cheapskate behaviour.

By the way, if you are coming from the UK, get the Eurostar, it is so much easier than flying. The relaxed mood when you arrive is well worth any price difference.

We booked the hotel thru Holiday City and it was excellent. We just loved staying there. Location was very convenient, 5 mins walk to Metro, Louvre and Tuilleries Gardens. Handy to all other key sites especially with Metro so close. We had a premium room and it was a really good size. We found our room to be really well appointed, good facilites and nicely decorated. We especially loved the 2 shutter windows that we could throw open in the morning. Our room faced onto the street and it was a little noisy on the Saturday night but ok other nights. Staff spoke English well and were helpful. We didnt use the restaurent as we found lots of cafes and bakeries within 2 blocks which was much more cost effective. Overall, it was great -(and Im quite fussy!) - I would definately stay there again.

The staff were very helpful and nice. We were able to check in early, which was great as our train got into town at 7am. The room was clean and adequate for our one night stay. A great location for getting around Paris, very close to the Louvre. Unfortunately, it seems the main drain pipe for the whole hotel was located in the wall behind our head!

This was a lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful, The room was spacious and clean. No noise from nearby traffic. The big advantage of this hotel is its central location. Walking distance to many attractions eg Louvre, Place de Concorde and the beautiful Tuileries Garden and Metro Stop nearby.

Will go back again

Just one poor note about service. When we did not found the coffee cups in our room for a second time, we asked for them the receptionist, and she asked us to come down and take them ourselves. When it had happened the first time, the other receptionist was much more helpful. Nice "mansarded" room at the top. A little bit small, but who goes to Paris to spend their days inside the hotel?

There was no air conditioning and the windows wouldn't stay open.
