I stayed at Discovery Suites for 11 days total. The staff are wonderful there especially those on the 5th floor restaurant. There is not too many employees cluttering up the place like the Shang Ri La. The only thing I noticed that was not very good was that I left out a piece of candy for about 12 hours and there were already ants crawling on it on the 20th floor. This was really surprising because everything seems so clean there. Also management took a long time to come fix my coffee maker (actually it never got fixed). However, the overall service and location of the place was great and it is very quiet and peaceful there.

VERY NICE AND APPEALING OMBIANCE

Staff at the check in counter still need training in dealing with guest. Like in my experience when I checked in and showed my internet booking, the girl told me to wait and she has to check if the internet rates are acceptable. Quite embarassing! And when I settled my bills, I told the staff that to settle all my bills because I will be leaving ahead of my check out date. She did.... and turned out that when I was in Bangkok my husband called me that I still have to settle two days more. I completely upset. I talked to the duty manager and informed her that the staff should be attentive and alert to the request of the guest. They should be trained further. The arrangement of the bed is too close to the TV... not much space to walk infront of it. The bed is small for a couple... so I asked my husband to sleep on the floor which he didn't mind because both of us was able to sleep well. And shocking to see a rat about 4 inches long.
