1 to 1 Delta Bessborough Hotel Saskatoon Reviews

Visit to Saskatoon and the U of S

Recommendation:  by William Armstrong

Suitable for: Business, Leisure, Romance, Families, Couples

The Bessborough Hotel is now about 75 years of age, but thanks to recent renovations still has the stately atmosphere of a regal hotel (without the regal prices). Renovations are continuing, but there is need of more: there is an immense exercise equipment room, but no small shop for buying forgotten essentials. The restaurant on the mezzanine level serves a decent buffet with great coffee. The hotel's location on the bank of the South Saskatchewan River, and the gardens behind the hotel provide a welcome view of green space near to the downtown. There is a room where you can use the internet (15 minutes, free), and you can purchase Wi-Fi connection time. My wife and I experienced unfailingly polite and helpful service from the staff. The U of S is 10 minutes away by car (but it took half an hour to find the buildings I knew years ago). A great nearby restaurant is the Taverna Italian at 219-21st Street East. The Berry Barn, 30 minutes away, offers home cooking with saskatoon berry pie -- delicious! (You can reserve at the kiosk in the mall a bit further down 21st).
