Turn right from the hotel cross over the bridge above the main road go to the second set of traffic lights and you will soon be on the quays.You can walk from one end to the other.Lots to see on the quayside Take a boat trip on the Singapore river.The free bus service from the hotel to the train station is good.The trains are a cheap easy to understand way to get about.The staff at the stations are helpful.Buy your tickets from a machine pay one SD deposit and have it returned at the end of the trip.If you go to Raffles get off the train at Raffles City not Raffles Place as we did.You can walk round Raffles all day if you want to.After the hotel walk to the river you will be back on the quays.Sir Raffle's statue is there.You can stroll back to the hotel it's not a long walk.Have a Singapore Sling in the Long Bar.Expensive but a must do once only.The Singapore eye is in Raffles area.Take a cable ride from a sky sraper to Sentosa Island.Nice day out on a fun amusement island see the pink dolphin show,walk in the tunnel at their version of Sea World.They have a Coffee Bean Cafe, try their cold iced coffee's.Sketches on Robertsons walk or quay sells jugs of beer cheaper then anyone else.The foods good.It's set in a very nice apartment courtyard along with other bars and restaurants.

Front desk staff should be more flexible in extending the check-out time to 3 p.m.

The Penang food is good.
