we found the staff very helpfull,parking a miner problem but we did have engoyable stay thank you

We came from Wellington on the Overlander train and walked to the hotel from Britomart, it was only 10 minutes carrying luggage. The room was on the street side of the hotel but it was quiet. The room was clean and warm and walking distance to a diverse range of food and coffee places. The staff at the front desk were welcoming and really lovely people.

On my first stay after a long flight from Europe I was welcomed at reception by a young lady who was friendly and professional.I asked if I could check in early it being mid morning.This was immediately offered to me.The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean.Without exception the staff were pleasant and helpful.
When I arrived for my second stay I was again in travel weary order after indulging my rail hobby with a ride up from Wellington.Again the Reception experience,this time with a different young lady,was impressive.The room was excellent in every respect.Given the state of tiredness I was in it was with great pleasure that I put my bags down and started to unwind,shower and rest.The room was prepared to the highest standard and was much appreciated.
Again during my second stay the staff were always helpful, thoroughly professional and all had excellent inter personal skills.I enjoyed staying at the hotel and the next time I come to New Zealand to see my son will be staying there again.

This hotel is very nice. The only negative we had was we mailed out postcards and noone has received them and it has been almost a month later. So I doubt they will ever get them. I called and send there mail out through a second party they dont mail them directly so I wouldnt mail anything threw them. But the room is nice, the food is good at the restaurant and the staff was helpful. They also called for a shuttle for the airport and it never showed up. So they called a discount taxi for us instead. All in all a 3 out of 5.

I made use of the Copthorne's room service and the food was absolutely delicious. I only have one complaint and that is that my soup had overflowed quite a lot into the dish underneath and so I missed out on some of it. (It was so yummy too). And the dessert (banana split) had melted by the time I got around to eating it and had run over the sides of the dish on to the tray creating quite a mess. But the food really was very nice. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The restaurant is very good, tho' it'd be nice to see more of your stewed fruit and less tinned! The room itself was very nice and well equipped and clean. The toilet needed attention tho; as it smelled very strongly of urine all the time, it also pumped water very noisily and suddenly into itself, when the room next door to the bathroom took a shower.

Close enough to the city to enable easy walking (hiking?!) access, but not too close to be noisy. It was nice to have a bath. When booking our rooms I mentioned that we'd have 7 people in them but when we arrived there were only 2 towels in each room. While the staff happily provided more, I didn't expect to have to request more when the rooms were set up with 2 double beds in each, so catered for 4 people in each.

The manager on duty, Martin Goh was very helpful and polite to all my request Room for the rate was good. Would like to have more additioal cable channels

Should not be marketed as 4 stars - would rate it at 3 to 3 1/2.

Location in the slightly seedy end of the centre - first night I thought might regret coming to Auckland until found nicer harbour bit next day. Selection of food in restaurant too small

had to pay more for room than quoted very poor airconditioning

lifts were very small would be difficult with a lot of people and cases. Found that the room was too hot and the air conditioning unit wasnt working up to standard the windows could have been double glazed as it was near to a main road.
