We went in, and the reception saw that we have a very small 2y with us, and they said that the room we booked is too small. They ... recommended a bigger room, but it's on the 7th floor, and the elevator only goes up to the 5th floor. My husband checked the "bigger" room, and he was very disappointed. I checked the original room booked, and it was barely enough for my husband. It's a double?!? are you kidding? where were we supposed to put our bags? it's just a little bigger than a walk-in closet or a bathroom. So we went back to the reception and sat down to discuss our options. We didn't want to be rude. We could not stand the smell of smoke, so the decision was not hard. We had to try to find a room somewhere else (expensive or not), but it cannot be here. We told the reception that we have to try to look for another hotel, and instead of trying to help us find an available hotel somewhere else, they told us that we still had to pay for that night. It was 80 euro wasted or well spent. We simply could not stay there. One thing is for sure, this thought me a very good lesson.
