This hotel ended up being better than I expected for the price. Breakfast was good and the room was nice and clean with staff was being helpful and maintaining the small breakfast room available and clean. For me the location was excellent since I arrived and left Paris by plain from CDG Airport Other convenience is that two sight seing buss tours are leaving witheen 100 m from the hotel.

I was very happy with this hotel: the staff was courteous and helpful and the location, really on the Gare du Nord is excellent.
The internet access price was quite excessive.

Being next to Gare du Nord was the main reason for our choice (RER and Metro). But, there are many places to eat in the area. Mainly, the staff were very good. We were also lucky in that our room was available from about 10am.

Kate & I plus 2 colleagues, travelled to Paris on the last Eurostar to depart London Waterloo on 13 November & returning on the first Eurostar to the new St.Pancras International station in London on 14 November.
We booked into the Hotel Gard du Nord, for one night and were not disappointed.
The hotel is in a convenient location, close to the Gard du Nord and the Eurostar terminal.
The staff were courteous, helpful & friendly.
Although we didn't eat a meal in the hotel, the continental breakfast was excellent, though the dining room was a little cramped.
The room was clean & comfortable; one small criticism, the heating was set too high, the room was too hot and we failed to find anyway of easily turning it down.

One night in Paris was very enjoyable, although it rained!. The strike by transport staff, did not unduly effect us.

Convenient for Gare du Nord but in an edgy part of the city.

Better sound insulation on rooms at the roadside of the hotel would be a big improvement. Air conditioning was not working (mini heat-wave for two days). Room location suffered from traffic noise especially from reversing garbage truck about 5.30am every day.

sorry, there was NO restaurant, just a breakfast room,. NO bar, jsu a small desk at the reception ! !

We were shown to an excellent room on arrival at 10h30am BUT on returning early evening, discovered all our belongings had been moved to reception and we have been relocated to another room. Our original room had been double booked and was given to someone else who discovered our luggage in it. We did not appreciate our personal effects being moved around the hotel and still cannot understand why the person who arrived after us was not given the room we were given in second place, it was an equally good room, and our belongings could have remained where they were. Mistakes can be made, and the staff were most apologetic and courteous about the error - it just seemd that a simple re-allocation of the rooms could have avoided our effects being moved around the hotel during our absence.

The area around Gare du Nord is pretty rough, but this centrally-located Hotel is convenient for travellers on a budget. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
