If you were a poor sleeper the noise from the street below could be a problem. I had no problem but a little noise came up when the pub opened was in full strength accross the road, but I was young once and that is the way it is. Would still stay again very happy. You don`t need a car for sightseeing because everything is close to the hotel. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. We will definitly stay again in this Hotel at our next visit. We were very please.

This did make the room a little noisy, however that was due to the fact the rugby world cup was on and the all blacks were winning, so even though it kept us awake with the revelling on the streets below, it was to be expected in a rugby mad country. I suppose if we didn't have an early train the following morning we would of been on the town ourselves. The staff were quite courteous as we have found everyone to be in New Zealand (even to us Aussies) and everything was just what we were after for our short stay in Christchurch, as we were just passing through, and thought having one day would be just fine, so the location made that possible.
