Excellent Service

The hotel services were excellent, especially the front reception staffs. Hotel facilities and surrounding were clean and well kept. My biggest suprised was to received a bottle of Moet Champange and Birthday cake from the hotel staff on my birthday.

great first anniversary!

Recommendation:  by Wei Qing Lew

Suitable for: Romance, Couples

I stayed at the Capella on the night of my wedding and went back on our first wedding anniversary. Much to our delight upon arrival, we'd been upgraded to a suite! I can't say I love the suite more than the normal room though - the latter had deck chairs on a cosy little patio, while the suite had a long balcony with no deck chairs. Still, it was a big room with the loveliest-smelling complimentary honey bath foam. Everything in the minibar was free, as was the nespresso machine in the room. The only complains were of the air-conditioning unit. I remember staying in the normal rooms and the air-conditioning got on my nerves with little ticks and creaks (very audible if you're a light sleeper, my husband didn't notice at all); the suite had its own air-conditioning problems - the fan would go on and off intermittently so the room would be in total silence for a while and then you'd hear the fan starting to whir again. This went on the entire time we were there. There was also some mix-up wrt my complimentary breakfast, but this was sorted without any complications. The pools are lovely and despite being a very busy period for the hotel, were still secluded enough to feel like you're the only guests in the hotel. Restaurants close late enough (11pm) so you aren't forced to have meals even though you don't feel like it. The library is just fantastic - complimentary tea, coffee, soft drinks and tea snacks for all guests, not to mention the DVDs you could borrow to watch back in your room. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place and DEFINITELY return every anniversary I have!
