The Breakfast is of poor quality.

The room has no air-conditioned and feel warm in the day time during stay.

Bath room facility is old and of poor quality

My husband and I were impressed with the standard of this hotel.

It is in an excellent location as we did not have a car. It is within walking distance to the shops, bus station, restaurants etc.

The staff were polite and courteous. The room was very spacious and clean. The breakfasts we had were very nice and there was plenty of food. We did not eat dinner at the hotel restaurant so cannot comment on them.

We hope to return to Launceston in the future and would have no hestitation in staying there again.

The cooperation from the staff, particularly Toby- the restaurant manager, in organising a special dinner was of a very high standard. The dining room and reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of paying for our stay in advance. When I tried to change the booking because of a death in the family I was advised that the payment was non refundable. As Mercure had access to, and use of my money 2 months in advance I find this unacceptable.
This policy alone would be sufficient reason for me not to stay at the hotel again.

Very helpful staff. There was no air conditioning in the room (or hotel) and it was very hot, between 32C and 35C in the middle of the day. It was also very hot at night. There was a new 'mobile' air conditioner in the room but it required ice to work and there was no ice.
