This is a very swish hotel and this was our second stay. The location is very good for eateries and walks to the Botanics, Boy Charlton pool, Opera House, Museum of NSW. It is on the tourist bus route too. The eateries are not cheap...tho the greasy spoon cafe across the road is great value!!

The hotel is very discreet and seemed a bit quieter generally as the bar does lack a bit of ambience with no music in the big cavernous hall. They do try with low level lighting making it look great however. The credit crunch may mean there a perhaps fewer well healed business types to pay for the expensive cocktails.

Internet booths on the floors is a good innovation since we last stayed.

It would not be that great for families or for in hotel amenities as the pool is a bit dark, indoors and smaller than you would ideally like with children.

For a swish swanky boutique experience, this is really very good.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the guys who looked after our bags and escorted us under his umbrella to the Hotel across the road for dinner so that we didn't get rained on.

Given that the building is an old wharf warehouse it felt very cold in the communal areas. Noise from the bar was also quite noticeable from in the room. Avoid breakfast if you're pushed for time - a la carte menu and very slow to take order. Food was excellent once it arrived. Received a free room upgrade at check-in
