Overall, I think the holiday experience in Bintan Lagoon Resort is below expectation. It is not a good value for money to visit Bintan and stay at Bintan Lagoon Resort during December.

First of all, December is the monsoon season and so all water sports during our vist were cancelled. Not only that, the Elephant Farm we planned to visit was closed during that time too. So, our plan to ride the elephants into the bush was forced to cancel too.

Secondly, we joined the Mangrove Trip and went to the Psar Olieh Olieh shopping mall. The Mangrove Trip was just average but the Psar Olieh Olieh shopping malll was so small with almost nothing there to buy.

The only thing that I would say good would be the spa and massage treatment in the hotel. I spent S$340 for a 3 hours 30 min treatment. It was very relaxing. Separately, the massage by the beach was also good too.

However, despite the good spa and massage experience I had, my husband who did not like spa would be able to quote any one thing that is memorable.

Due to the design of this template, I must fill in an answer for the question of "what kind of stay do you think this hotel is good for". So, I gave "families" as the answer but if there were an answer of "nothing" or "do not recommend it for any kind of stay", I would definitely go for this kind of answer.

I will not recommend friends to go to Bintan during monsoon season or stay at Bintan Lagood Resort which was quite old and worn out. For the hotel room rate and meal bills we spent, I think this hotel has over-charged the price. I stayed at Singapore before and after the Bintan trip and the hotel at the same rate was so much better in terms of environment, facilities and staff service. If I compare the money we spent in Bintan vs our previous trips to resort islands in Thailand/Malaysia, I can say that the Bintan trip is not a good value for money option for resort stay especially during December time.

The hotel was nice and atmosphere quite ok but too noisy.
Impossible to sleep as loads of kids were screaming early in the morning ...

I would recommend it only to families, but not for couples who want to enjoy a chill out WE!

This hotel is very nice, the food is a little bite to expansive but the new renoveted rooms are wonderfull.

Well I was really suprised to find all the prices were in singapore dollars. Its suprising because I thought Bintan was still in Indonesian territory...

We went for dinner on our last day stay.
We went for A- LA carte menu instead of Buffet for a familly of 4.

Seems that the price is too steap and too much crowded with guests. The waiteress was too much busy and very hectic till they have lack of efficiency in service with no smiles or greetings. Very slow in serving food. All in all the Breakfast buffet was superb and great services compare to Lunch hours or Dinner time.

The location of this resorts was a bit too further away from others resorts. The beach was clean and peaceful.
Transport Shuttle service to Pasar Oleh Oleh should be free for all hotel guests.
Price for the mini mart was very costly compare to other resorts.

We have stayed in Nirwana resorts last 6 years ago. Prefer there and much more conveniences and cozy environment with a great Spa tranqquility peaceful quiet and relax environment. Great for couples.

Bintan Lagoon Resort is a beautifully presented hotel. The room was nice with a great view over the large garden area and the beach. The beach was lovely with white sand and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The hotel had a very large swimming pool. We did an excursion boat trip to Mangrove tree lake/river, which was interesting and we got to meet some friendly local people.
My only complaint of Bintan Lagoon Resort was that I felt it was heavily over priced. I have stayed in some other equally lovely 4 or 5 star-hotels before with more reasonable charges. I was unpleasantly suprised at our departure from the hotel when an extra 20% tax was added to the final bill. I also felt that the food was sligthly expensive at the hotel, and to hire a taxi/driver or to use some services at the hotel (such as to have a massage or other spa treatments) was also very expensive. Because of these reasons I will be likely to stay at some other hotel during my next visit to Bintan. I would recommend Bintan Lagoon Resort to those who have plenty of money to spare.

The villas at the Lagoon Resort are great; They are suitable for two or three families and come with golf cart to get around. They have a small pool and the Angsoka faces the beach and about 50m from water's edge.

The resort is large and has almost every conceivable facility. Two golf courses, two swimming pools and the beach. The resort is a families resort and caters for this group with Kids Club and games machines for when it rains. Depending on time of stay it can get very busy.

Staff are friendly and helpful. They seem happy to work there. It is simply easy to stay there and the staff will assist you quietly and efficiently.

Eating options are plentiful although could get boring if you stay longer than a week. Plenty of other options about the island. Make sure you get the buffet breakfast into you to start the day. It doesn't seem to matter when you get there the food is plentiful.

I've been to this resort several times, Nothing much to complain though. But I do have few feedbacks after this trip in 3 May 2008.

The staffs in Bintan Lagoon is excellent & well trained. & most of them speaks english fluently.

Lacation/environment is excellent.

Standard of food had dropped compared to before.

I usually stay in deluxe room & it is excellent but I've stayed in superior room this time(nice location too) but maybe the wall & ceiling are too thin, the guest directly on upper floor was back at probably 1a.m. & I could hear clearly their foot steps, several things dropped (probably ther're tipsy), furniture dragging etc...

Therefore, my partner & myself woke by the noise several times throughout the night.

I've made a call to reception & they actually did something (maybe they call the upper room) & they finally stopped.

There are no other facilities close to this resort, so, everything has to be puchased there.

Whilst the food quaility was good it was very expensive.

Wine lovers will be in for a shock. A bottle of Jacob's Creek (normally AUD7.00) was SG$85 ++

Other reasonable wines were double that price.

The staff were polite and helpful.

We doubt that we would stay there agin.

The staff are friendly and we reached early at 12pm which is 3hrs early before the check in time...but we was giving a room n with seafacing ...also near to the pool n beach...room was spacious..massage by the beach was great with the breezing of the wind... but going to pasar oleh oleh or kelong will be SGD40 for the taxi if you miss the shuttle bus which is SGD6 and the shuttle only operate few times ..think it end at 3.30pm in the afternoon. overall a nice stay...
