The rate for the food and drinks at the resort and the gift shop are very expensive. ie. a bottle of 1.5litre of mineral water at gift shop is RM 9.00 compare to just outside the the resort, the price is only RM 3.00. Futhermore the nasi lemak with two pieces of small chicken is RM 21.00 ++.

Berjaya Tioman is a great palce to rest and relax...nice place and the beach is great especially for kids.
For food I would suggest that visitors make their way out to the many restaurants located nearby the hotel. There are runners near the main entrance and make sure u tell them exactly what u want. They can be a great source for islands hopping trip as well.

The hotel was in an excellent location and the deluxe chalets where we stayed were near the beach which was clean and the water clear. The hotel is a bit dated in style and could do with a makeover especially around the pool area where a lot of the paving was cracked and broken. The pool area is small for the size of the hotel and there are not enough beds around to lay out and relax on. You have to be there early!! However, we had a massage at the spa and it was absolutely wonderful. There is a quiet relaxing area with beds beside the massage huts and we enjoyed a peaceful hour lying there after our massage and taking a plunge in the spa.
The food was alright for buffet style food. We had a BBQ meal one evening and the meat and seafood were excellent.
There was a bit of delay on checkout as our bags had not been collected on time and we had to wait on the bus for while. However, this may have been because it was a big holiday and might not be a problem at other times of year. The snorkelling is good of Renggis island and my husband enjoyed a game of golf on the very intereting jungle course. The scenery was wonderful from some of the higher holes and there were plenty of monkeys and huge lizards around the course. All in all, we would recommend a holiday there for a relaxing break.

The laundry service was a little expensive.

This hotel needs serious renovation, and is highly over- rated. Old linens and decor. The rooms have seen better days.

Ovreall OK but value for money below average compared to Indonesia or Thailand. Rooms need serious refreshing in terms of paint, furniture, and bathrooms.
