Sanur – Sanur is the oldest luxury resort area in Bali before others like Nusa Dua were discovered and is a mature beachside town. With its quiet and relaxed environment, Sanur has become a popular site for family vacationing for both local and international tourists. Restaurants, shops and hotels are abundant in Sanur, which enjoys a steady flow of tourist annually with extra crown during its festival seasons. Sanur has a historical significance too, it was used as entry point by the Dutch during invasion in 1906 and by the Japanese forces during World War II.

The whole place is in need of some maintenance, but this remains one of Bali's true hidden treasures.
Another important attraction is the Pura Blanjong or Blanjong Temple. The temple houses a major an important artefact, an inscription on a stone pillar called the Prasati Blanjong. It tells of a Javanese king who visited Bali in the 10th century and formed what was probably Bali's first formal government. The stone inscription is Bali's oldest known artefact to date.
