Not what you're looking for?

A haven for divers, Lembongan Island has many safe diving spots where waves are not too big with less underwater currents. Huge coral reefs and natural seaweed patches attracts not only those beautiful coral and shallow water fishes but also divers from all over the world. Seaweeds are also farmed in large scale and this attracts quite a large portion of the tourists who come here.

A few minutes walk from the hotels would take you to the Devil's Tear, a naturally formed cliff with waves crushing below it constantly. A beautiful and rare sight, this place is a well known photo shooting spot so just remember to be courteous and give way for others to take pictures too. Normally this place and other beaches in Lembongan Island rarely get crowded, even when it's high tourist season in Kuta and other trendy places in Bali. Lembongan Island is one place you can truly relax and have peaceful time for yourself and loved one.

Lembongan Island or Nusa Lembongan is a small island in a group of three island clusters located off the southeast coast of Bali. The island's location gives the island its identity as one of the most serene tourist getaway as its far from the hectic and busy environment of Bali mainland. Lembongan Island is clear from roadside hawkers, stalls or even from the irritating hawkers, making it just the right place for you to simply walk around and relax.

Main tourist activities are water activities including surfing, diving and snorkelling. You'll be amazed with its crystal clear water, emanating a vivid blue shade. Other two islands that make up the cluster are Nusa Penida, the largest among three and Nusa Ceningan, the smallest, and separated from the mainland by Badung Straits. Surfing is the main activity as the waves are good but can get a little crowded during peak seasons. Diving and snorkelling also a favourite activity among tourists as the sea surrounding the islands have healthy coral and marine life. Beaches here are white sands and there is a flourishing and well established seaweed farming industry here, where many visitors find it interesting for visit and to learn the process.

One of the best beaches here is the Dream Beach, located at the south coast of the island. It has powdery white sand with plenty of trees, giving a secluded and private theme where you can truly rest, relax and enjoy the nature's beauty. The current here is strong so if you're not a good swimmer then its better to avoid going in the water. Northern beaches are completely out of the question as the currents are the strongest even for experienced swimmers.

If you feel like having a couple of drinks and good music to accompany it, then you should visit the Beach Club in Sandy Bay, just a few minutes walk to the north from Dream Beach and adjacent to Devil's Tear. You'll find a hidden cave beneath the waters which is only exposed in low tide. Take cautious when exploring the cave to avoid getting stuck at high tide. Devil's Tear is a natural rock formation that has been eroded by crushing waves, forming a cliff high to stop the splashing waters. A truly magnificent site, it's a favourite photo shooting spot.

And don't miss the Puncak Sari Temple, the largest and grandest Hindu temple in the island. With its mystical aura, you can have good views over the straits back to Bali from this area.
