Very nice staff and a warm welcome gave us a great time at Bintan. The Restaurant at the beach as well as the Treetop Restaurant in the Resort close by were delicious and had a nice atmosphere. No aircon in the breakfast restaurant invited flies. The beach should just be visited with mosquito repellant because of the sandflies.

A short break over the weekends at Bintan. This is a good choice. Not as expensive as the Banyan Tree Villa but at a more affordable price and is just next to it. You can walk over to Banyan Tree's restaurant or buy their spa package. But of course, it is a different class of luxury and view. Banyan Tree has the expensive view over the hill and the luxury villa and some with personal pool. For Angsana, it is set in the low laying area and the room is more like the size of a typical hotel. The ambience in the room is cozy and the room service ensure scented incent are burning during the turndown service. The bed is very comfortable and the sheets are spotless. The two resorts share the same beach in Bintan, very exclusive and the beach is exceptional. It is very calm and well protected from the strong wave and you can do swimming at the bay area safely. The water is crystal clear. One problem if you want to swim at the beach is that is just knee deep even if you walk out quite far from the shore. Also, you need to make sure you use the anti sand fly cream readily available at the resort. I have missed a spot and ending with itch all over that spot. Have tried a spa package with my wife for an one hour massage. This is my first experience on a spa and it is definitely a good one. It is set in a big cozy room with a good view to the beach. Very romantic and recommend strongly for all couples. very good view to the beach. At the resort, the only place for food is either at Banyan Tree or Angsana. At Angsana they have BBQ buffet by the beach at night which has a great ambience. The food at the cafe I have tried as well is serving indonesian cusine. Just don't think of the price when you are having a break :).

Booked stay at Bintan in celebration of my birthday (28 Dec 2010) Thus, I have indicated on the hotel reservation that 1 pax is celebrating birthday on 28 Dec Upon check in, found that room was decorated with wording "Happy birthday" on the bedding & there was a complimentary birthday cake provided. I was touched by this sweete gesture & certainly made my stay memorable

Very good service staff. Everyone from hotel driver, to marine center crew, to masseur to housekeeping staff display huge smiles to hotel guests. I actually lodge a complaint on the last day regarding the front office supervisor and the assistant manager responded to me within 2 hours. I was pleased with how they handled the situation. Overall, I will go back again, next time with my whole family. :)

Staff are very courteous and helpful. The room was on the corner and good view as well, even the room itself was not as high quality as we expected. But the service was really high standard as the banyan tree group.

Looking for a mid week outing, Bintan location was just right. One hour ferry from Singapore gave us a minimal distance to travel.

The white sands of the beaches, the coastal greenery were so peaceful.

The restaurants had good food and fun in or outside options.

The spa was good. Quiet setting in or outside. The staff gave wonderful massages.

The room was clean, comfortable and had a lovely view of the garden, pool and Sea.

Only negative was the fogging that occurred Tuesday night at 11pm. Since we had gone to bed early, it did wake us up.

Staff are very courteous, helpful and well trained.
Congratulations. Keep up the good work. It is good for the hotel image and reputation.

Service provided are beyond normal expectation.
Will definately recommend to others.

Overall the experience at Angsana was great, the food was reasonable ( the Banyan Tree was fantastic) , the hotel staff did their best to help where ever possible, however I was extremely disappointed to hear that one of the Spa staff who looked after my mother during a 3 hrs head to toe package , talk incessantly, encouraged my mother to give her a tip by way of explaining her personal situation back in Village, and suggested that my mother meet her in the reception so that she could personally take the tip. We spent USD1200 over days/nights and I think for 4-5 star hotel this is totally unacceptable behavior.

My mother ia quite a timid woman and the reason why she didnt say anything at the time was she feared that the spa woman may not give her the service she she paid for.

I would highly recommend the hotel to educate their staff regarding soliciting the guests to pay tips !

All the staff at the hotel very very helpful and always willing to help with any questions/queries - they made us feel very welcome at all times even if we were just passing through the reception they would say hello with your name (which amazing that they can remember all their residents name)

The hotel has lots to do but if you wanted to leave the hotle and just go for a walk out of the hotel area it was impossible as it too far away from the main roads and in the evening there were no lighting to leave the resort so you are kind of restricted to Angsana and Bayan Tree.

Should provide DVD and CD player

If there coin laundry, it better to take small kids for long stay.

The Air con actually dripped on the second day.
