We found that the bathroom was not very clean and that there were numerous black hairs stuck to the walls. The shower needed cleaning properly and/or refurbishing.
The fridge was noisy and kept us awake much of the night.
Breakfast was OK apart from one member of staff who was eating a bag of crisps, kept licking her fingers then handling the slices of bread that were waiting to be toasted.
Reception staff were very nice and helpful however.
We will never return to this hotel.

After having arrived from Brisbane on the midnight flight we were promptly collected by the courtesy bus & taken to the hotel - good service. On arriving at the hotel we checked in & were given our room key, after that things went seriously down hill. On the way to our room, which incidentally was a long way considering we were only there one night, the walls were in a very poor state of decor, covered in scuffs. Our room was stuffy, the carpet was dirty, the walls were scuffed, marked & in a poor state of repair & there was a live spider in the bed!!!.
Additionally, we were not informed of the breakfast facility upon our arrival. In hindsight, bearing in mind the overall cleanliness of the hotel, this was a blessing in disguise.

The toilet seat had hairs on it.

The sink had hair on it.

The carpet needed cleaning - more than just with a vacuum cleaner.

Even though we were only staying for a single night, there is no excuse for this level of service provision as regards the presentation and cleanliness of the room. Due to the locality of the hotel to the airport it would seem fair to assume that most of the clientele would be resident for a similar period so a lack-lustre cleansing for one-nighters should not be a valid business practise.

Did we lodge a complaint? Frankly, no, as we'd not had a good night's sleep and simply wanted to leave, start our holiday and put the experience behind us.

If the hotel has recently changed ownership, we can only wonder if the management has changed also. It is an understandable business practise to limit repairs just prior to sale of the hotel, the level of service provision and overall experience of staying at the hotel should not suffer and the transfer of ownership should be seamless to the client. Evidently, this is not the case.

The hotel is the first and indeed the last impression of New Zealand that a visitor gets and as such, we consider that the hotel is a very poor ambassador for New Zealand.

It is in serious need of a major overhaul & refit. My husband & I will never stay there again and will never recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Bathroom was substandard in terms of appearance and cleanliness. Ceiling was covered with mould and wall/bath interface had sealant missing.
Tear in curtain to external window. Overall, a poor impression and not what I have been accustomed to in my previous stays at other Comfort Inns.
Staff performance was good, but did not compesate for the shabby state of the accommodation.
I have stayed in much better accommodation in 3rd world countries.
Location convenient to airport, with free shuttle 24 hours.

The first night I stayed there the shower did not work in my room. The shuttle did not pick me up from my international flight (although it was put onto my booking sheet through you people.
The next day I was flying on a domestic flight, I was up in plenty of time to leave. I spoke with the early morning person behind the desk and he said he was going to arrange the shuttle. However he went home and no one knew that I was waiting there. To cut a long story short I missed my domestic flight.
I stayed there on my way back to Aust and all was well.

My 1st night was totally not enjoyable as the room allocated online ( room 1) was not the room given, (125).

Upon my arrival late evening, the receptionist was busy attending to taxi chits and quickly allocated the room, gave the key and left me wondering where the room was???.

There was no courteous welcome or assistance offered.

This room was at the end of a long passage and upon entering the room it smelt musty and had a urine odour.

As my arrival was late in the evening 11.30pm, I decided to put up with it and respond in the morning.

The smell was so bad and bed so hard, that I did not sleep well and arose at 5am packed and left for Hamilton.

Nobody was on reception to advise.

I contemplated not returning to this motel.

when I returned later in the evening I advised the new receptionist the condition of the room (125)and she immediatly changed rooms.

This room was two single beds and again the beds were hard and difficult to sleep on.

I required a meal so went to the restaurant and bar, (10.15pm) which was closed and ordered a hawaian burger and chips meal, which although filling, was overpriced for what it was.

I have stayed in quite a few motels and chose this place for convenience to the airport.

It is certainly not up the mark for my standards.

1. IF THE LIGHTING SITUATION IN THE ROOM CAN BE IMPROVED, IT WILL HELP A LOT. THE ROOM WAS TOO DARK EVEN WITH ALL LIGHTS TURNED ON. 2. FIRM MATTRESSES ON EACH BED SHOULD BE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT FOR A GOOD HOTEL. THE MATTRESSES IN OUR ROOM WERE NOT GOOD. 3. STAFF SERVICES WAS EXCELLENT. I COULD SEE THAT THEY TRIED VERY HARD TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. I HEARD THAT THE OWNER TOOK OVER THE OWNERSHIP OF THIS HOTEL NOT TOO LONG AGO. MAYBE WITH TIME, THEY CAN IMPROVE THE ABOVE TWO SITUATIONS THAT I MENTIONED.

didnt quite get good reception on arrival.. had to get a taxi to hotel since we requisted for courtesy coach...on arrival had to wait for nearly 5 mins for someone to checkin us.. coz the receptionist was on the phone.. didnt even greet us.. then explained him abt the pickup.. he just told us that we have to call 'em..but that was not on the e-mail.. room was perfect..loved the location.just close to the airport..thanks to housekeeping for making the room presntable..

We arrived at the hotel just after midnight and left the following morning. I chose this hotel due to the close proximty to the airport and the complimentary shuttle service. The following morning we had to return to the airport to pick up our rental car. The shuttle service was excellent.
